Originally enlisted in Northampton Regiment but killed while with the Essex Regiment. I visited William's grave in Belgium 16th August 2005, photograph to be added later. CWGC Information Name: MORGAN, WILLIAM Nationality: United Kingdom Rank: Private Regiment/Service: Essex Regiment Unit Text: 1st Bn. Secondary Regiment: Northamptonshire Regiment Secondary Unit Text: formerly (20236) Age: 28 Date of Death: 09/08/1917 Service No: 33039 Additional information: Son of David and Charlotte Morgan, of Monks Cottage, Crick, Rugby. Casualty Type: Commonwealth War Dead Grave/Memorial Reference: XXXI. C. 10. Cemetery: NEW IRISH FARM CEMETERY

New Irish Farm Cemetary is a concentration cemetery where bodies buried elsewhere were brought together into one cemetary so it is most likely that William died elsewhere, was buried and then moved at the end of the war. His name also seems to be on the Llanwrda war Memorial, although his brother's isn't.
